Here we go..... good luck! x

Good morning crafty friends
Well! Here we go! My first ever blog challenge. The special price of £9.99 for the Lakehouse kit will only be available until the 4th of April. You need to purchase the kit from Bramwellcrafts.co.uk and you will then have until the 4th of May to get your entries in. I will let you know where to send pictures of your work  in the next few days.
The winner will receive a goody bag of Kaisercraft product worth £50 and will become a guest designer on my blog for a month.
Below you will see some inspiration. The first card I used Tim Holtz Distress Pens. I stamped the image on to water colour card using an Archival ink pad and then coloured the image with the distress pens and used a paint brush and water to soften the effect. I then incorporated the rub-ons in to the picture and used the patterned papers to build up the card
The second image is coloured in with a single 2B pencil. I love the effect this gives although you do have to be patient as it takes a while to build up the colour. I also used a paper stump to blend the lead and an erasure to add the light.
I hope you enjoy using the kit and I cant wait to see what you all come up with.
I will put a link in to this post this afternoon but for now just visit the website and click on Mels featured product.
I told you I was rubbish with technology!!!!!!
Love, Hugs and Good Luck

  1. Dear Mel,
I am starting out in scrapbooking, but im struggling with adhesives. Some go through the back of papers, others which say they are for scrapbooking dont stick anything down.
Which brands do you think are best for scrapbooking both photos and papers and embelishments? and where can i buy them?
    Thank you,
    Natalie

  2. Good morning
I use photo glue for my pictures as it stay permanently repositional.
I use a sticky dot runner for the papers. You just need to make sure that the glue you use is acid free. Most adhesives are nowadays but just check the packaging.
You can buy photo glue online at Crafters Companion or Pinflair also sell it as do Create and Craft.
The sticky dot runners are usually on my shows or on Bramwellcrafts website.
Hope that helps. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
    Take care

  7. I like your choice of stamp for your challenge, but won't be ordering because of the high shipping charge for such a small parcel. Sorry to be so negative, but I'm on a budget, and I've had similar items sent for much less.

  8. Hi Lesley
The postage should be free as far as I can tell. Others who have bought the kit didn't pay postage, did you try to order it through the featured product section?
