  1. Hey Mel

Loved your shows today and the copics are defo a must, I have loads of Promarkers but I NEED these!!

Currently working on the hubby at the moment lol, it is going well, might even be allowed the case to keep them in :)

The great colours and the refillable aspect is defo a selling point aswell as the great saving being in the C&C club offers you.

I will keep an eye out for your tutorials,

    Much Love

  2. Hi Mel,
Loved your shows and demos today. Some fantastic products. I've got a lot of pro markers and also a few spectrum noir pens. I get reasonable results with pro markers, and ok results with the spectrums. I've been toying with copics for years, I guess when you've got other pens it's hard to justify buying others...anyway I have taken the plunge and decided to get some skin tones to begin my copic journey. Can I ask, will it be be possible to use the copics along side my other pens? Many thanks,
    Rachel

  5. loved the shows Melanie, and look forward to many more ,but I'm a bit confused.can you tell me I noticed you where using the sketch pens which I know are refillable but didn't think the ciao pens were refilable, but you said refills were available have they changed the ciao pens?

    1. Hello
The ciaos are refillable. I always refill my blender. You just remove the chisell end and pop some ink in the barrel. Let it settle for a few minutes and away you go. Just make sure you refill them gradually rather than putting lots of ink in as it can flood x

  7. Hi Mel

I am just watching your cricut show on C&C and thought you might be the person to answer my question, I have posted it on the cricut official forum but not got any replies yet! So here goes this is what I have posted:-

"Does anybody know of a butterfly cut that the body is a separate line to the outer wings of the butterfly, so that you could hide the body but still cut the wings so you can keep the butterfly in the main body of the card and just lift the wings and then place a coloured card/paper behind? So it looks like the butterfly has landed. Or if you know how to achieve this on the Gypsy if there is not a cart with a suitable cut.

I have looked and looked at this and now cant see the woods for the trees, I can see in my minds eye what I want to achieve but cant work out how!"

Would appreciate any advice you have to offer on this subject as would like to use the technique with butterflies and flowers.

    Hoping you can help.

  9. Hi Mel,
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed watching your demonstrations on Create & Craft yesterday. I have had my Copics for about a year and always feel disappointed with the results, but after watching you have given me the confidence to try again. I ordered the Velvet Card from C&C last night (I have lost count of the different types of card I have tried!?!) so I am looking forward to trying it.
Your demo, hints & tips were fantastic and a real help - and I look forward to seeing more tutorials on your blog.
Thank You Mel for your inspiration.

  11. Hi Mel
I'm watching you on C&C at the mo and am really envious at how easily you get the cricut to cut for you. I purchased one recently and I am struggling to get a clean cut. I've already played around with the weight of paper, depth of cut and speed but nothing has worked so far. When you first set up the machine do you just pop the blade in as is or do I need to advance the blade further from the holder as only the tip of the blade is peeking out? At this point any help would be gratefully received! Can you advise me please? Thank you in advance, Claire

    1. Hello Claire
How frustrated you must feel. Ok, I want you to put your speed, pressure and blade depth on full. Then try cutting a piece of Miri card. If it does not cut cleanly then please put a new blade in. I know you have only just got your machine but experience tells me that sometimes you get a. Bit of a dud blade so try the same thing but with a new blade and then let me know how you get on.
Don't fret we will get you cricuting !!!!
      Take care

    2. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I've followed your advice but I'm still not happy with the results - at the edges the card still seems to be catching. Perhaps a new blade will do the trick
      kind regards, Claire

  12. Hi Mel, I have also had the problem of the person above, I am really happy with the machine, my husband bought me one as a surprise, this is my first electronic cutter, but when I cut something out mostly intricate designs it takes me up to 20 minuites to carefully prize cut piece out of card what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks Liz.

Wow that's mad!! Not you sorry that sounded bad. Ok I want you to do the same thing and change your blade. Let me know how you get on. Sometimes you do have to ease the pieces out but not to that extent.
      Let me know.
      Thanks

  14. Hello Melanie, I am so glad to have joined your Blog. I had been watching the cricut shows for about a year before I chose my expression- I am not very good with techi things and thought that this would suit me better! It certanly does meet my needs but not really my pocket I now have 22 cartridges and sit on my hands to stop me buying. I tried to order the wrap around one from CC this morning but it had sold out.
I love the new Tags bags and boxes 2 my world is getting easier.
I did send you an email to CC last night but dont know if you got it? I enclosed a photo of my gift bags which I made for my Grandson Josephs goodie bags for his 7th Birthday party- I used the Robotz Cartridge and its the first one that I have made something from every page, I made the robots into fridge magnets and attached them to the bags, I was rather pleased with myself and Joseph was also impressed.
I will go now but look forward to popping back more often and am now off to watch CC and recording 6pm show thank you for sharing Anne x
