USB sticks

Hi crafters
A couple of people have contacted me about the list for compatible USB sticks for the Brother Scan and Cut. I have contacted Brother and they have sent me this link.http://download.brother.com/welcome/doch001175/scanncut_usb_r1309.pdf

They have informed me that there are probably many others that work but these are the one that they have tested.
Hope this helps
Love and hugs

  5. Just tracked my order~it may be here today~I feel giddy and light headed! Dear Mel~I'm the person who asked about the holo peel offs stuck to sturdy card before cutting to use as a topper. I am sorry to be a nuisance, but our tv does not show C&C after 6 p.m. and my comuter is too slow and crashed when I tried to watch live {as you said you would try to answer in that show} so, I am hoping that at some time {as I know you are busy} you can let me know the answer? Can't thank you enough for all the demos and input on this amazing piece of equipment. You are a National Treasure! Deb xo

  6. Hi, I did something stupid I think. I got my ScanNCut today and went to use it. I stuck some paper/card to the standard mat and now I cannot get it off. Too sticky! Any suggestions?

  7. Hi Toni
You could try soaking it in water and then allow it to drip dry.
In future just try a small piece first. Don't forget either to keep your pressure and blade depth nice and low.....not like me who cut in to my mat!!!!!!! Lol x

  8. Hi Mel
The Brother ScanNCut will be my first electronic cutting machine. I am so excited about it!!! I have ordered all the accessories to go with it too. Thank you for posting the list of USB stick which are compatable. I did look myself on the Brother solutions centre but couldn't find it. Now I can order some USB sticks to use with the machine.
Thanks Mel for all your amazing demonstrations and valuable information. I have enjoyed every show that you and John have done.

Just in time to make a great card for my husband on valentine's day (then he won't be so cross with me for buying the machine!)

I'm also going to watch the CnC programs I've taped now to remind me of all the great ideas

    Keep up the excellent work!

  18. Hi. Beba
Sorry for the delayed response. If you go in to Johns blog. I think he has a post on there about it.....not had chance to try it either yet!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi Debs
Sorry for the delay. I started with my pressure on one and blade on two and cut. Then take the blade up to four and cut and then up to seven and cut and then if it needs it increase the pressure to two and cut once more. That should do it. X

  20. Hi mel
thanks for all the fab demos on scan and cut but I have a query regarding the low tack mat as in its so low tack it won't hold anything and iI tried three times but had to keep stopping the machine . I used the high tack instead as instructed but it was to tacky for the flimsey paper. I believe the mat has no glue but was told I'm wrong .Do I go back and be more demanding
    regards mandy

  21. Morning Mandy
Have you tried pressing the paper on to the mat using the part of the spatula that has brother written on it?

  22. Morning Mel.
Can you help me with rotating shapes on the back. I just don't seem to be able to do it.

  24. Hi Mel, Just wondering when you talk to brother I am noticing that when I scan an image in direct cut I sometimes get the odd small line where it picks up the edge of the card. Is there anyway as part of an update they can introduce an eraser pen function so that I can remove that small line? This would be really really useful! Thanks for all the fab shows, I could work mine straight out the box and it is great! Thanks Nicole

  25. Hi Nicole
Can you not eliminate the line with the drag arrows?
    Melanie x

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi Mel unfortunately its too close to the image......and as the image is a butterfly the box doesn't work. Its driving me mad! unless the arrows could be made more flexible?! Its probably just my luck that it only happens to me! x

  27. Also I have been trying out the Bebunni stamps from crafters companion stamped in black memento and not having much luck with that either in recognising the outline! Back to the drawing board for me!x

Can you email me directly please. Melanieheaton@aol.com

  30. Hello my lovely machine has arrived BUT my purple mat has a fold at the edge of it and will not work properly. Can I get a replacement from somewhere do you know?

  31. Hi mel
on one of your shows for C&C you mentioned about scanning a parchment design in and then the brother marks the parchment so you can then emboss it. Can you tell me the setting for this please, thats providing I heard you correct many thanks allison dorrian

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi Allison
I think I put the pressure on -1 minus one and the depth on 1. It was quite a thick parchment I used. Let me know how you get on.

  33. My Mum the scan and cut and we have found the lo tack mat to be completely useless! On the first use the paper shot off the mat, and then the mat was cut by the blade before the machine could be stopped! Any advice would be appreciated!

  34. Hi DeBe
I have passed this on to brother. My advice is to press in on really well using the part of the spatula that has brother on it. See if that helps.x

    1. Hi Karen
There is one update which will put all the latest software updates on your machine.
If you go to brother solutions centre and click downloads it will direct you through the process. There is also a list of compatible USB sticks on there too.
      Enjoy

  38. Hi Mel,
I want to have a go at making some drinks coasters. I have bought some felt one lot at 1mm
And another at about 1/2mm. I have bought some iron on stiffener also.
I've not got access to my computer at the moment, as I'm staying at sons dog sitting!
There is a project in canvas but I cannot use it due having no computer here.
I thought I would choose a simple cutout shape and have a go. What pressure do I need and also and also what should I set my blade at?
I'm a newbee at this, I've had my scan n cut since early September, but to be honest, I've not used it an awful lot. Listening to you over the last few weeks, has prompted me to bring it here with me to start playing with it.
Thank you for all your fabulous demos. I have most of them recorded, but again on my TV at home.
    Anne xx

    1. Hi Anne
Try your STANDARD blade on 7 and a Pressure of 7.
If that doesn't work please email me at melanieheaton@netscape.net

  39. I now have a Scan n Cut! It's a steep learning curve but gradually
learning. However, I can't seem to reduce an image (change overall size without it breaking apart)
from the USB (Tattered Lace) - when I try, it only takes part of it? Is
there a select all or something I'm missing?
