  1. Hi
I bought my wife a can n cut for Christmas, she's used it about 10 times and halfway through cutting out a lattice it has not cut through the card, to get it to cut she has had to increase the pressure to 1 and the blade depth to 9 or 10 just for 220 gsm card.
We thought this may be the blade, if so I'm very disappointed at how long it has lasted but I can't find anywhere to get a replacement, create and craft don't even have the standard blade listed.
Is there anywhere I can get one relatively quickly? are they all going to fail after such a short time?

    1. Hi
My blades last on average for about 6 months and I use mine a LOT.
First can you check to see if the number on the blade housing moves during an intricate cut and come back to me. Don't worry I will get this sorted for you.x

    2. No it stays where it's set, everything was fine until yesterday and she was very pleased with some of the cuts she did, on Thursday's C&C shows you mentioned having to increase the pressure after several months which is why I was so surprised. She is disappointed that she may not be able to use it without a new blade (which we can't find anywhere to get)

  2. Hi, I am having a problem with direct cut. The cut seems to be slightly off, leaving a white border on the right and below the image. I have re-calibrated Brian but it has not made any difference :(

    1. Hi Claire
It sounds like you have either a faulty blade or housing or the pressure isn't working in your machine or the belt is set too high.
Where are you up to with C&C?
Can you email me at melanieheaton@netscape.net please.
      Thanks

  4. Hi. Sorry to bother you again but I've just noticed some scratches on the see-through overlay of my scanning mat which is causing lines on images I've scanned. Can you just replace the acetate like cover of the mat or do you need to replace the whole thing? P.S. I did manage to put the fcm cutting files on to my blog that people can download for free. So far there is a tree, two cameos and some flourishes (elliesimaginaryfriend@blogspot.com). Thanks for your help as I wouldn't have known where to start. Lore x

    1. Hi Mel I tried to import a file for snc into canvas but it said it was not suitable but it was an svg file I think it might be compressed not a computer wizard x

    2. Hi Barb
You will need to unzip the file by right clicking the file you have downloaded and choosing extract here for the drop down menu. That will open up the file just like opening a packet of dies so you can then use it.
      Hope that helps

  9. Hi Mel
I am still trying to get the cut blade right, at the moment it is on 4 and the pressure is on 1 is this right?.
I am quite nervous of my Brian and quite reluctant to use it.

    1. Hi Jane
Don't be nervous. If you are cutting a decent weight if card then your settings are correct. Make sure your speed is on 5 and do a test cut.
The worst that can happen is that it doesn't cut through....so go on ...gouge it a go.๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. Hi Mel
After have terrible trouble trying to sort out the svg files .
I have done it with the help of my son. I bought the down loads in the sale as you advised but could
not get them onto my USB stick anyway at long last it's done.
I am now going to try it all out on Brian and will try not to nervous tomorrow. Watch this space
    Thanks Mel
