HiI bought my wife a can n cut for Christmas, she's used it about 10 times and halfway through cutting out a lattice it has not cut through the card, to get it to cut she has had to increase the pressure to 1 and the blade depth to 9 or 10 just for 220 gsm card.We thought this may be the blade, if so I'm very disappointed at how long it has lasted but I can't find anywhere to get a replacement, create and craft don't even have the standard blade listed. Is there anywhere I can get one relatively quickly? are they all going to fail after such a short time?
HiMy blades last on average for about 6 months and I use mine a LOT.First can you check to see if the number on the blade housing moves during an intricate cut and come back to me. Don't worry I will get this sorted for you.x
No it stays where it's set, everything was fine until yesterday and she was very pleased with some of the cuts she did, on Thursday's C&C shows you mentioned having to increase the pressure after several months which is why I was so surprised. She is disappointed that she may not be able to use it without a new blade (which we can't find anywhere to get)
Ok.Can you make sure the tip of the blade is still there and send me your address to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will get you a replacement sent out.
Thanks Mel, have emailed you.
Hi Mel wanted to check if you got my email as I've not heard back from you.
HiNo, not had any emails from you please resend.x
Hi, I am having a problem with direct cut. The cut seems to be slightly off, leaving a white border on the right and below the image. I have re-calibrated Brian but it has not made any difference :(
Hi,Can you send me a picture of your cut to email@example.com please.x
i got mine for christmas off hubby and it wont even cut the demo triangle unless its on depth 8 pressure 3 and its the c&c card stock hubby and i are not happy we have been back in contact with c&c just got to wait now :( :(
Hi ClaireIt sounds like you have either a faulty blade or housing or the pressure isn't working in your machine or the belt is set too high.Where are you up to with C&C?Can you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org please.ThanksMelanie x
Hi. Sorry to bother you again but I've just noticed some scratches on the see-through overlay of my scanning mat which is causing lines on images I've scanned. Can you just replace the acetate like cover of the mat or do you need to replace the whole thing? P.S. I did manage to put the fcm cutting files on to my blog that people can download for free. So far there is a tree, two cameos and some flourishes (email@example.com). Thanks for your help as I wouldn't have known where to start. Lore x
Hi LoreI would get a new mat, did it come with the scratches on it?HugsMelanie x
Hi mel could you do a tutorial on unifiying please. As when i scan an image and then unify to cut it says some of the pattern is missing.then theres a red square over whats missing. But i carnt see wats missing it was just a simple happy birthday sentiment. Im sure im doing something wrong. Would very much appreciate a tutorial.Ann
Hi Mel I have problems importing into canvas using tings for canvas.
Hi BarbCan you expand in that a no please so I know how to help.x
Hi Mel I tried to import a file for snc into canvas but it said it was not suitable but it was an svg file I think it might be compressed not a computer wizard x
Hi BarbYou will need to unzip the file by right clicking the file you have downloaded and choosing extract here for the drop down menu. That will open up the file just like opening a packet of dies so you can then use it.Hope that helpsHugsMelanie
just found your blog. We own a Scan-n-Cut but I'm a quilter, not a paper person. HELP!
Hi Mel I am still trying to get the cut blade right, at the moment it is on 4 and the pressure is on 1 is this right?.I am quite nervous of my Brian and quite reluctant to use it.Regards Jane
Hi JaneDon't be nervous. If you are cutting a decent weight if card then your settings are correct. Make sure your speed is on 5 and do a test cut.The worst that can happen is that it doesn't cut through....so go on ...gouge it a go.😉
Hi JaneSorry that was meant to say GIVE it a go.X
Hi MelAfter have terrible trouble trying to sort out the svg files .I have done it with the help of my son. I bought the down loads in the sale as you advised but couldnot get them onto my USB stick anyway at long last it's done.I am now going to try it all out on Brian and will try not to nervous tomorrow. Watch this spaceThanks MelHugs Jane
